question for those with Big....
Drops
im sure ill get quite a few hits on this thread lolol...
ok seriously though...i have a pretty big dropp on my 5th Gen...
last year just as i was putting it away i noticed that one of my axle boots was completely torn...i was like wtf....dont understand how it tor so evenly completly around....anyway so i just went a head and got a new one for 20$
today i was changing my tranny oil...and i check the boot on the passenger side...and noticed that that one too was ripped the same dam way...
now i really dont understand...does drop have somehting to do with it? could i be too low? (i dont find that im that low (neuspeed race + koni yellow on lowest perch))
could it be simply because they were dry and warn out?
the only thing that would make me think that this could of happened...is i recall last year a slipperry day where a few times my car was wheel hoppin like a motha*** dont know if that has anything to do with it....
what do you guys think? thanks

Well, compare the angles that axles sit at at stock height, and then the angles of a really dumped car.
You said you were dropped really low...don't know exactly what that means, but if you're tucking your tires it's probably going to hurt the axles.

The axles and boots are designed to work best at the stock height. Lowering your car puts the axles at a different angle, which can lead to stress on the boots and wear them out over time. It's not "bad" to be lowered, since the advantages far outweigh the disadvantages. But prepare to replace/upgrade a few things to get it working correctly, it's just part of the game.
