so today i go through the drive-through at the bank and when i stop it makes this creaky sound. I pull up to a parking spot and open the trunk. if i just touch the back of the car and push down a little bit, it makes the sound around both shock towers. i noticed it allll the way home anytime i made a stop.
does anyone else have this? christ, this car has been back to the dealership so many times already, in fact it's going tomorrow for warranty paint work for spots on the paint i've mentioned previously.
f'n new honda's really are not what they used to be, it's really annoying....

Mine has the same problem. If I sit in the drivers seat and bounce, I'll hear it. If i reverse or drive at under 5mph I hear it clearly. I'm having it checked out Friday morning. When I find out what it is, I'll let you know.

i took it in to Honda today for the paint work to get completed and i showed them the sound. After the paint stuff is done, they will pass it along to a tech who i respect alot to have him check it out. The only thing is, the car must be driven first to get it to the point where it'll make the sound, so i hope they drive it around first. it's definitely not normal whatever it is!
yea I have a nocking sound coming from the front and a raddle from the back . when I asked the dealer about it thay said that the si shocks are real tight and that can happen! but the noise in the rear was my muffler raddling on the hanger, so thay fixed thay said and the next day the noise was back!! I did not get anything in writing about the noise witch I should just in case I have to lemon law that bitch on the 3rd time . love my si but hate wierd noises!!!

when i dropped the car off for the paint work, i told them when they are done to have my friend who is a tech check out the sound. when i picked the car up, they said they could not reproduce it.
I took it back the next afternoon and took the tech for a ride. sure enough, he heard it clear as day just as i did....
he said it's definitely coming from the top of the rear struts on both sides, which is what i said originally...he's going to call the techline on monday to see if there is a fix for this as there is not yet a TSB for it.
it sorta sounds similar to/ as if they used poly bushings w/o lube, but he's thinking they are rubber, so i dunno. it might come down to having something removed and lubed...
I might have to ride it out until a TSB becomes available but i have a feeling it'll happen sooner than later because this HAS to be prevalent.

Mine is doing the same thing, I will be getting it checked out next week. Front left I get a "pop" when going over speed bumps or entering driveways (not every time though)... And the rear right squeeks when the car moves or I bounce around in the seat...

When I went to the dealership, they fixed all the rattles I was having problems with. But, of course the pop and creak didn't happen. I hopped in the car with the technician and couldn't get it to make the noise.
Oh well, if I happens again I'm driving straight over to the dealership and letting him hear it.

took it in today and thay said that the struts were bad and thay were going to order the parts ...along with the rear shocks... wow its 3 month old with 5000 miles and it needs all new ****. I hope this is the last time I need to have honda fix it!
What dealer repaired it, and what city/state is the dealer located in. Do you have the service managers name? I would like to show this to the dealer I will be taking my car to.

IM sorry but I don't remember his name . it was all up to the tech he's a young guy thats into performance so I think he's just cool and knows what should be done. actually one of the guys that work's (or brother)of a guy that work's there holds the record for the fastest 1/4 mile in a stock 06 si @ 14.3.. (im told!) but the dealer is Norris Honda in dundalk (Baltimore) Maryland. I must say this Is a great dealership thay never BS me and take me right in with no appointment. I had a break from work for about 2 hours. I drove to the dealership just to see what thay would say. not thinking thay would look at it that day. I got there at 8.45am told them I needed to back to work by 9.45am thay said no problem I was driving away @9:20 with the parts on order. great service
I also get a popping sound from the front when I go over speed bumps or up a ramp. Is that normal? Were they able to fix it? I've heard it since day one and assume that it was normal.
The dealer said they cannot re-produce the problem and they called Honda Corporate and they have not heard of the problem... It was raining today so the moisture might be causing it to be a bit quieter, when I go to pick it up I will be sure to check it before I leave and get the manager over if it makes the noise...

well, good news on my end-
i got a call today that from the dealership that honda got back to them with some potential remedies. it's pretty indepth and it seems they are going to work with the tech to potentially get a real answer for this. i was told that this has been popping up (no pun intended) on honda's end so we will see what haps. i am leaving the car with them on friday.

Really depends on how in depth the tech went to get ahold of honda. They may have just done a search on ISIS(honda interactive network) and found nothing or may have even called the engineering tech line and the guy on that end didnt know about the on going investigation yet. Havent seen any complaints up here in the NW yet, however rear shocks with around 10k are going bad.

they fixed it. the idea that Honda suggested worked...
For anyone's info, the service dep't of Avalon Honda 609.465.8600, tech's name is Eric Dalton.
Eric also told me something interesting- he said that the OE rear struts are junk on the new cars, i think specifically on the sedan. He said they are very poorly made all across the board and he thinks that eventually they will be recalled, HOWEVER, they said that this had nothing to do with the sound.

The new si sedans are having radio problems.. they have an annoying feedback... I had my car @ the dealership 7 times now for this problem and they have honda tech (the main people who fix the honda's) working on the problem. I guess within the last week they had about 100 calls for this problem.. just a little heads up.

i think we should have sticky at the top of this forum to detail known issues with these cars, but the lone active mod in this particular forum denied the request....
i'm finding out more and more stuff everyday that i've not only not found in this forum, but not even on the 'net as a whole....
i think something like this is more important than exhaust sound comparisons haha
