I have been offered a set of rota slipstreams in 16x7 40mm offset with 215/40/16's on them....I wanted some wheels and tires for HPDE use. I am lowered with comptech springs and type-r LCA's with Bilstein race struts - not the HD's, the Sports or whatever they call it.
Will I have rubbing issues? I assumed some of you type-r guys must run aggressive track setups? Please advise!
Thanks!

I have 16x7 +40 slips on the back of my car and do not rub with 215/45-16 Azenis, which is likely wider than any other 215 series tire. I dont see you having problems.

jety - would it make a difference if I am lowered on Bilsteins and Comptech coil springs (the big kind)...Thats my only concern!
215/40-16 is too small for an Integra. The good news is, that means it's less likely to rub. Don't buy tires that size, but if they come with the wheels, use 'em up and then buy the proper size tires when it's time to replace them. The best 16" sizes for our cars are 205/45-16 or 215/45-16; with the proper offset on the wheels, neither of these two sizes should rub.

No rubbing because that size is still too small in diameter.
The best sizes are 205/45-16 and 215/45-16. And there are plenty of choices in those sizes, including some of the best, stickiest tires on the market.
