Help me with rear Si sway bar install on my dx plz!
Ok, im kind of having trouble figuring out how to get these things on correctly, but i cannot seem to figure it out, i took a few pictures, so maybe that can get me some help.
First picture: the rear suspension on my car right now, i'm not sure where the sway bar bushings are supposed to bolt to, so if anyone could circle that out that would be awesome

Next picture is the rear Si lca's and Si bar, this is all that came with what I bought, so i'm not sure if there is something missing. what i am really most confused is where the sway bar bushings bolt onto??

any help would be greatly appreciated, if anyone has pictures of the bar on a Si, or a non Si with a rear bar on it that would be great!!

you need the OEM si rear swaybar brackets. they dont mount onto the crossmember like later civics do.
the problem you have is the oem si rear swaybar brackets WONT FIT your dx. you will need to drill a hole frm the top and nut the bracket it. or i hear you can fish the bolts through the frame if you remove the bumper.
try this too.

make sure to use a backing plate or be ghetto and big washers...even if you dont have any breakage without backing plates, it will not hold the chassis together as well as with them...aluminum, or mild steel will work great

Thank you Tippyman, and 89efDUSTY. I contacted the guy who sold them to me, he says he is going to go check if they are still on there, if by chance they are not, i guess i will have to custom build some, which is a scary thought cus most of my custom stuff ends up very very badly.
me and my brother just did this today, i have a 89 dx hatch. we put all 91 crx si rear disc's & sway bar. my car had no holes for the sway bar bracket so we just took the toe hook's off and used 1 hole in between that lined up and just bolted it down. just check out the pics i hope they can help you out..

Thank you for the pics, but im a little confused, are those brackets oem? or are they custom made? why couldnt i just goto home depot and buy some 90 degree bent thick steel, drill some holes, and then use that as a brace? does the strength of the brace really matter that much or is there not that much strain on it?
brackets are oem, and we dont know how much strain is really on them. we just put 1 bolt that lined up and that was it.. good enought for me. and about the 90 degree brackets. go for it.
i would think you wuold need more than one bolt to keep the sway bar from moving around. You get an A for effort though. WHy not use DA trainling arms?

uh, well the ones you have pictured wit hthe swaybar are from an 88 CRX/Civic Si. that kind of control arm is unique to 88's here in the US.
i see your picture of what i think is the underside of your car. and you have a 89-91 style, so your shocks wont work with those new control arms. and the swaybar wont work with your old control arms since they are not Si control arms.
i dunno what you want to do. you need to either find 89-91 Si control arms, or find 88 rear shocks.

i actually do.
its gonna be a pain to ship to you since theyre too long for flat rate shipping.
you can buy them NEW frm the online dealers for like $140 shipped. i recommend that quite frankly. new bushings... mmmmm

PM replied, but im not sure, i almost have this gut feeling that i could somehow cram those lcas onto there.. it seems like instead of the bottom part of the shock going around the lca it will just go inside of it, if it doesnt fit.. well ill make that lil **** fit. honestly the 88's lca's seem like they have a sturdier design to them than what i have on it right now.
My new idea: buy aftermarket, such as KYB or something, made for 88's, that way i could put nice shocks (which are also VERY cheap for 88's) on there, and then have them fit. sound likea good idea? btw, how are Monroe shocks?
like i said, getting 88 compatible shocks is the alternative. its up to you.
but i wouldnt waste your money on crappy shocks either. if youre going to replace your shocks, get quality.
my recommendation, dont get anything less than tokico illuminas. theyre a great value. stay away from blues, gr-2 or any other cheaper shock.
