Default Dont laugh.. i need your help guys....O2 sensor wire clip

I never had to open any of the clips under the hood as my civic is still stock. I am changing the o2 sensor in my 93 ex but I dont know how to undo the grey clip! I pushed down on the slotted piece to the left side of the top but the side to the o2 sensor will not come out. Is there something I am missing? I am somewhat embarassed to ask but I really need your help as I dont want to break th connector. Thanks! Any tricks to this?

OK.. thanks for your input. So.....Just squeeze the hell out of the left side with the slots on top and there no other clips holding iit, yes?? it was driving me nuts as I expected the O2 removal to be the hardest part. I soaked it with liquid wrench for a week and had no troubles with a small breaker bar.

Just squeeze and give a lil wiggle, try pulling each piece back. Good luck

Don't feel too bad, these are difficult to get apart if you can't get your hands around each piece*

Ya.. I spent about 30 minutes on the clip and said to myself " I better quit for the day before I wind up causing more damage"... I'll try again in the morning.

00 Em1, I expected to hear something snap after reading some horrow stores about o2 sensors and civics. After reading that I sprayed it daily with liquid wrench especially after a long run when some of that stuff could seep in easier.. I can only assume that it helped.
