Default KEYLESS REMOTE question

Hi,
I bought a 2000 Civic EX but it lacked the keyless remote -- I understand this model/year came with one but I guess the previous owner(s) lost it. So my question is, if I wanted to buy the keyless entry remote used, would I need to get one with a specific fcc code -- or would all civic remotes work on the car? Thanks!

Factory alarms/keyless entry are **** anyway. You can get a killed DEI setup from $200-300.

And you're whip will be a lot safer.

I recommend the Python 700 at circuit city, $300 installed. About another $50 will get you hood/trunk pin sensors and a backup battery.

Great setup and stuff can always be added on.

I'm running the above and a tilt sensor, 2 kill switches and a couple more things. It's got good range on the pager too. Codesafe code hopping. It's a steal.
