Default random type r question

this is VERY random, but none the less, I was just wondering if anyone knew a definitive answer.

My GSR, and other integras, have cloth covering the speaker grilles in the front doors. Kinda cool.

All of the type R's, don't have it. My ITR is just a plastic grille. Now don't tell me that Honda was trying to shave weight? What could that little fabric possibly weigh? Anyone know why this is?

My '94 Civic EX had plastic covers... I don't think Honda had any weight savings in mind when they designed the speaker covers.

yeah, my '93 EX has the dealer sound upgrade, so from the factory it had the BEST possible sound. But no cloth covering the speaker grilles.

However, my '98 GSR has cloth. So do all other integras. But not the type R's. At first I thought that maybe someone took the cloth off of mine in my ITR, but after looking at tons of pictures of other R's, it seems that no one has it.

It's not a big deal, I just think it looks a lot cleaner with the cloth. I was just wondering if anyone knew a real answer. And I know that it is a stupid question. But hey, what the hell are we all sitting in our friggin' houses on the internet for anyway, right?

There is a lot of foot traffic by the speaker grill. Cloth rips, plastic doesn't...

i think it looks better without the cloth, matches the rest of the interior, also the plastic just wipes clean, cloth is ghey.

I never even noticed that in other tegs...interesting! I'd rather have no cloth.
