any 1 reflash their car?
went to another honda dealership to get a post check up and some guy told me about relfashing my ECU. u guys think it works. it lowers the v-tec kick in to 4500rpm and lowers the power band. also boost the red line to 8200rpm. opinions? hondata.com
..are you joking?
I think most people would agree the reflash is one of the most significant mods you can make early on. It raises your redline past 8200.. more like 8600 I beleive. And I beleive the vtec engagement is even lower at full throttle.
Tons of people have it, I'm willing to bet it also has 100% satisfaction amongst everyone whose boughten it.

Everyone who has "boughten" it? Nice.
While it sounds great in theory, keep in mind the effect on mileage, possibly your engine at those type of RPMs, and warranty issues.

keep in mind that it is pointless to reflash without any other mods, its actually bad to do on a stock car.
Once you have some mods done, then
its great (personally wouldnt know yet)

Soooo informative, thanks Mike.
On the other hand, you *did* answer the question...

After your 6th to 2nd story and all the hassle you went through Im surprised you want to raise the redline. lol
If you have at least an intake and exhaust then its best to have the reflash. If your stock then wait on it. Unless you can get all the mods all at once with the reflash.

Incorrect.
. It engages high cam at full throttle between 4500 and 5800 rpm. You're probably mistaking it for the i-vtec system which can begin to be felt at 3000 rpm but doesn't fully engage until 5800 rpm (4500 w/ reflash at full throttle).

intake or exhaust is what Hondata says on the site... don't need both to see gains

please elaborate on why you think its "bad" to do on a stock car. all it is doing is adjusting fuel and timing and other parameters. so why is it bad. if done right it can actually improve performance on a stock car and get better gas mileage.
