Default 99 Civic Si with a 98+ JDM Type R swap - just finished today, but no power! any help would help

bought the motor from Hmotors, just finished everything today, at first when i started it it ran really rough car was shaking, engine was shaking, the rpm was around .2, so i adjusted the thorttle a bit up to 1000 rpms. no problem, it was just loud as hell... no exhaust... well i take it out still no problem everything is good... first gear fine, second gear fine... all gears are perfect... BUT... no power at all.. no matter how much gas i give it it accelerates like your starting off the line... any ideas? any suggestions? would greatly appreciate it.

Umm, can you explain the no power? Like bogging and lagging? Any CEL?

absolutely.

start car
first gear, and start going
on the street, five miles an hour, rpm very low between 1 and 1000 rpms
i give it throttle it will not accelerate the way it should be accelratingl... it will accelerate 3 times slower then geo metro
mmmm what else, thats it.. it just accelerates 3-4 times slower then geo metro.. exactly like that... it has no exhaust right now or anything just the header and nuthin beyond that.. so its very loud.. but i mean i can feel the car is under a lot of pressure when i try to take it to 8900... i cant even get it past 4500 i think its going to blow up! ..

you might need a tune up on the motor and change the fuel filter. dont expect too much. i did a itr swap in a 00 ex and it was like driving a gsr with bolt ons. maybe the clutch is going bad too

compression and timing will have to check that, possibly sometimes next week, timing could be the problem... just i dont get it though.. the motor has never been taken apart from hmotors besides being pulled out... i dont see why timing would be the problem.. what coudl it cause to loose compresion? its sparking fine on all 4 cylinders for sure

your car is mad at you cause you spent 4500 on another motor to get 170whp. it wanted you to boost it or to just build the b16 to get over 200whp for less then 5g's.

talk to your car and tell her your sorry that you got caught up in the type R hype, she will forgive you and all will be well

check the tps sensor, it might be misadjusted. cause all the motors that i got from hmotors the tps sensor was off and i had to use a voltmeter to adjust it.

Could the plugs be matched up with the incorrect cylinder? It would run but be really laggy.

nothing is 'impossible' when you're trying to find out what is wrong with a motor.

first thing i would do is to look at the CEL. that will tell you a lot if the thing is on.
