Wire Harness for Trunk Light?
Anyone know where to buy the driver side rear interior wire harness for a 92-95 civic hatch? The harness that comes with the trunk light harness. I remembered that my friend had one in his si. Been trying to find the harness but nobody sells them.
For those who wired it up themselves, could you give me a description on how to do it... i want it to look as oem as possible. what wires were used?

just did some research and figured out the 12v for trunk light is the white/blue and ground is green.....
just before i start opening up the rear oem harness, did anyone who added the light use and find those wires. i dont want to open it up and not find the wires.

heres what I did , first you pull off the plastic black trim off trunk , it reveals the wires you will be tapping into. tap into that green wire on the connector like picture shows(this is the ground)

that wire than will go to the trunk light

another wire will come out of the trunk light (power) run this wire to the fuse box underdash and place it on the first spot as seen in picture

if you have any questions feel free to im me, or if you need more pics im me, I bought these connectors and wire at autozone. this was installed on 95 dx eg...oh yeah just incase you didnt know behind your trunk light one side has a resistor that side for power

thanks for the info and great description. but, isnt there a better power wire and ground wire, like isnt there one on the harness right behind where the trunk light should be?

yeah there is one on the si, but this wasnt the case because my car is a dx , plus the ground is completes the circuit when hatch is popped on that wire i tapped into(only power when hatch open)

if you have a light that says that yer trunk is open...then you have the power wire for that near the trunk latch.
find the switch and tap into it

There is a switch that grounds when the hatch is open. You will use this and a constant, fused, 12V.
No there isn't a wire harness back there for the light on cars that didn't come with it. It's just a wire ran in the bundle with the other wires. And if there was, it wouldn't make it any easier on you since this install is so simple already.
I tapped into the fuse output just like the guy above me, except that I got the actual plug that snaps in there (like the brown plug a few plugs over in the pic). You can get them out of 92-95 Civics and 94+ Integras on the driver's side door under the panel on cars that have power locks. I then ran an inline fuse holder with a 10A fuse, and ran that back to the pin on the light, using a female quick disconnect. Originally I had the other pin on the light grounded, but then I wanted the light to come on automatically when I opened the hatch, so I ran it to the hatch trigger instead, which on a 92-95 Civic is one of the green wires. You'll have to either go directly to the latch, or verify the wire in the harness using a multimeter since there are multiple green wires.
I did this all without completely removing the rear quarter plastic or the rear seats.
