Default hf to si swap

One of my friends is doing this swap, and I was going to search for info, but si and hf are not indexed since they are only two characters, so I couldn't get any info.

What I need to know is

1. will the injectors off his hf engine work for the si. I imagine they are the same size, but do they flow as well? same connections?

2. is there any wiring differences? I know the ecu plugs are the same....any extra sensor on the si that need to be hooked up? etc..

any other differences or things that need to be done other than just swapping the two motors? we have si axles....do they fit the hf hubs? If not, what is needed to swap to si hubs? Just the hubs, or other hardware.

Thanks for any help in advance

ok i think you need si axles and hubs. Also the injectors will work since you can use the same intake mani.

What? take the motor plug? I'm confused. Do you mean wiring harness? Do I really need an si wiring harness? I don't think my friend has that, he was just planning on using the hf harness.

Why is no one replying to this? Has no one done the swap...I'm sure many people have. Come on people, help a brother out.

I will make this simple...

Swap the entire engine over (no swapping injectors/manifolds crap like that)

Pick up a SI tranny (89-91) also a flywheel and clutch assembly.

The HF wiring harness will work fine, You will have 1 extra plug left over for the small emissions control device next to the distributor.

You will need a SI ecu,

axles, you can use your STOCK HF axles. If you want to upgrade to DX/SI axles you then will need to replace your hubs.

The motor is a direct bolt in plug and play. It is a very easy swap, good luck!

I have done tons of swaps, HF's Dx's SI's to Zc's d16a6's B16's B18's whatever..

Jeff

Also, if you use the stock SI exhaust manifold or a hedder you will need to get an exhaust flange welded onto your stock HF piping.

yeppers. axles will work inside diameter for trans is all the same. hf harness should work b/c their suposed to be wired the same as the si. hf intake manifold is smaller than si. get an si one, flows much better and has a larger tbody.
other than that your all set

cool, thanks a bunch guys. Still one thing to make sure of.

We don't have the si injectors, so will his hf injectors work???

Will the hf axles hold up fine with the extra power?

thanks

The HF injectors will work fine and the HF axles should be ok as long as you don't pound on them doing burn outs every where.
