Default 98 EK obd1 Motor wanting to switch to OBD2

ok so i have a 98 ek and a b18b that i believe is a obd1 motor... what is a for sure way for me to check to motor to see if it is obd1 or obd... and if it is a obd1 can i add any sensors or anything to make it obd2?? and for a third question what wiring harness would i need to put the b18b into my ek.... Thanks

i think the only difference with that would be your ecu plug ins.... all the plugs are the same on the engine... just get a obd2a to obd1 ecu jumper from rywire.com and you should be good to go

Most sure way to check obd of the engine is by the date stamp, above runner #3, on the head - it will say (9|x).
From this, you can determine the obd - obd1 will be 94-95 for a b18b and obd2 will be 96-01.
The head type is a way too - P75 is obd2 whereas PR4 is obd1/0

The only rewiring you are going to have to do is change the iat connector, if you choose to use the b18's sensor, at the IM, rather than the intake arm.
Also, if you have a 3wire iacv, you will need to convert that to 2 wire (search for that)

Oh, obd1 b18b does not have a knock sensor. So you will need to add that, if you are using an obd2 ecu.
(or just use an obd1 p75 ecu and harness and forget about that)
If you are stuck on that obd2 thing and want a knock, you can add it by redrilling/tapping the inner upper alternator bracket hole, inserting the knock sensor there.

Actually then, that should be a b18a, not a b18b
unless the head has been swapped (?)

If it really does say 92, andPR4, then that head did not come with that block, originally.

P75 heads flow better...thats really all though
functionally identical
