Default DA Suspension Question URGENT!!!

Alright I've got the back suspension out of the back of my 90 integra 4-dr, we are trying to remove the upper strut but the bolt just turns the whole strut on the inside. How do i get the bolt on the top of the stock suspension off? we have it compressed with spring compressors btw......

Use visegrip clamp to hold the inside of the strut, the chrome part. that should hold it enought to turn the nut

DO NOT DO THAT UNLESS YOU ARE REPLACING THE STRUT.

the proper way is to use the 5mm allen wrench in conjuntion with the 14mm wrench to loosen it.

if you put vise grips on the shaft of the strut you will put marks on it, and when them marks pass through the seal in the damper body it will damage the seal, therefore, you will need new struts.

I would just simply place it on the ground, slip in a 14mm wrench, then allen wrench. Spin it to where the ground stops the allen wrnech from moving and start unscrewing until it pops or just loosen it and then compress blah blah blah

u have to use the allen wrench method.. get some liquid wrench on the bolt, and long allen key that is strong or put a bar on it and then use the wrench.

from my experience , depending on your location , and age of vehicle , your not getting them off without heat. youl either break the stud off with nut still on it , or strip the allan hole.
