Default What does DC, DA, etc. mean?

I realize its a stupid question since everyone's so familiar with these acronyms, but what are they referring to?

DA
DC5
etc

well... i don't know all of them shortend meanings but DA is reference to the 93 and earlier integras. DC is the newer integras and i think DC5 is the type r... or maybe it's the rsx... i dunno, someone else around here prolly has more accurate info... the EG and EK and EP are all civics tho.

DA9 are 90-93 RS, LS, GS hatchbacks
DB1 are 90-93 RS, LS, GS 4dr
DB2 are 92-93 GSR

DC2 are only GSRs and Type Rs
DC4 are all other 94-01 hatchback integra
DB7 are all 94-01 4dr integra

DC5 is RSX, not sure of the specifics on this one.

Ok, someone correct me if I'm wrong, but these are the chasis code that you can simply find within the numbers in your VIN. As stated before, EF's, EG's, EK's, EP's are all Civics, and the DA's and DC's are Integra's and RSX's. DA= 90-93, DC2's (LS), DC4's (GSR, Type-R) are the 94-01 Integra (DB8's are the 94-01 4dr), and DC5 is the RSX. I hope I'm right, feel free to correct me if I'm not.

i pulled it up on the acura interactive network--1998 vin identification showed a 98 type r as having a dc3 chassis code might be a typo--bcuz when i looked at the 97 type r it had dc2 and for 2k n 2k1 it had dc2 as well--will have to research.

But what's an even more interesting question is,does anyone know what chassis code is for 1st gen. integra??

da6 - 2nd gen integra jdm, xsi
da9 - 90-93 usdm integra
dc2 - 94-97 integra
dc4 - 98-01 integra
dc5 - rsx

as far as i know. i'm trying 2 learn all the motors.

i believe:

d16 - 1st gen teg.
b18a - da motor ls
b17 - 1st gen gsr 92-93
b18b - dc2 motor
b18c1,2,3,4, - gsr motors but i don't know all the regions
b18c5 - usdm type r
b18c6 - jdm type r
b18c7 - dtm type r (europe)
k20b - rsx
k20a is base model (ep3) rite??

DC3? when you thought you've seen it all...

to be genaral

DA=older teg before the circular headlights
DC=circular headlights
DC5=RSX

there is alot more to it then that but i figured if you asked then that would be enough info for you for now... no need to go further

i don't think there has been one entirely correct post in this thread. as far as the 3rd gen integras go, a dc2 is a vtec coupe (gsr, type r), a dc4 is a non vtec coupe (ls, rs, gs), a db8 is a vtec sedan (gsr) and a db7 is a non vtec sedan (ls, rs, gs). that's all i'm really 100% sure of and don't want to be another idiot posting up incorrect information.

it's be funny to run into somebody who's just blabbing incorrect facts sounding all confident that they know their **** and all you can do is shake your head in disappointment.
