Default B18b from 97teg will it work with a cable tranny?

Ive bee asking around about this. Ive been told that it wouldnt work. i bought an LS integra motor from a 1997 integra and i need a tranny. All ive found though is cable LS trannys. ive been told that since my motor came from a car with a hydro tranny i wouldnt be able to use cable. is this true? im planning on doing this LS swap into my ek9 civic.

Arent eks hydro? If so you might need a hydro to cable conversion. But im pretty sure the tranny will bolt up to the block just fine. Check to see if you need another clutch too, im not sure if cable and hydro clutches are the same.

the cable tranny will bolt up and work just fine with the newer motor.

Of course, if the car you're putting it all in requires a hydro tranny, you're gonna be looking for more parts than you bargained for. But, if it's an older DA integra, you'll be just fine with the cable tranny and newer motor. Some sensors will have to be changed, as well as the distributor though, because the 97 LS engine will be OBD2.

As for your civic, the motor should work just fine. All the sensors and wiring will be compatible. However, unless you are getting a SMOKING deal on the tranny, don't bother with it. Just get a hydro tranny. But if you insist on the cable one, look to HaSport for their hydraulic to cable conversion kit.

it will physically fit, but you will need expensive conversion parts to make the tranny operative. i prefer my cable clutch over hydro, so i stick with em, but in your case hydro would be better.
