holding SOHC cam gear in place...any tricks?
Just get it as close as you can to TDC, and just slap it together... When that's done just use a 12mm to turn the cam back to TDC.

The easiest way I have found to get the belt on
1:Adjust the tensioner to max loose (spring extended) snug tensioner
2:Set the top/bottom at TDC (you may need a wrench or socket to hold cam gear)
3: Wrap belt from bottom (crank) clockwise around the top (cam)
4: Around the pump and tensioner
5: Loosen the tensioner bolt
6: Turn crank CCW (Counter Clock) a few teeth
7: Tighten the tensioner to specified TQ
8: Spin crank 2 rotations and check tensioner may need loosened and re-torqued
