Default CEL/ATTS lights after oil change

I got my 2001 Type-SH (with i/h/e) a week or so ago, and changed the oil for the first time today. Went from regular oil to Mobil 1 Full Synthetic.

The minute I start the car after the change, the CEL and ATTS lights are on, and stay on. I pulled the code and the car's telling me the CEL is for a "EGR Valve Lift Sensor" error.

Now I searched how to fix an EGR valve problem, but would this have been caused by the oil change? And how is ATTS affected? It's not the first time I've driven the car since I've had it. Also, when I first recieved the car the same lights were on, and the battery was nearly dead. I swapped the battery for a new one and they went away until the oil change today.

thanks

The ATTS light will always activate when the CEL is on. When you fix the other problem, the ATTS will function again.

thanks, the ATTS was worrying me most

I'll see if I can clean out the EGR valve this weekend and hopefully that fixes the CEL

There are two vaccum hoses that sit above the oil filter are where you have to reach and remove the filter from. One comes from the EGR valve and the other comes from the Intake manifold, you could have loosen and disconnected one of these vaccum hoses. Check them, i did that by accident once and i got the same code (12) and i discovered one of these vaccum hoses had came loose.

Thanks for the suggestion Revi. Though there was quite a lot of jostling in there when changing out the filter (prev owner tightened old filter wayyyy too much), all the vacuum lines appear to be on there pretty solidly.

It is throwing the '12' code, but that could be a number of things. Is there a more specific code I can get off of it to tell exactly whats wrong? Is that something the nice folks down at Autozone can do?
