Default hatch release lever

How do you adjust the lever or make it tighter so it open

You cant really cut it and reattach it. I bought a new one replaced it, now 6 months down the road its stretched out again and wont open! Last time I cut the cable and left it under the fenderwell and pulled it there by hand to open the hood. Im at a loss now. I dont know what Im going to do this time because obviously hondas cables and releases are flawed. If someone finds a good fix let me know. Some people never have problems with it. Then others like me are plagued constantly with this same thing over again.

When you replace the cable, make sure it is not binding on anything, and spray the inside of the cable (the sleeve) with a good quality silicone lubricant, it wont deteriorate the cable and should make the pull action easier.
