Default wheel size

Im using the car for autox and drag. Im going to be running koni yellow with GC coilovers. Also an m2a4 trans with a quife lsd and mfactory 4.64 final drive. Im debating on what wheel size I should get i was leaning towards 15x8 slipstreams but im not sure if the extra width will compensate enough for the extra weigh it adds vs say a 15x7. And also with say 220 whp with a 4.64 FD should I be able to hook up off the line regardless ? Tires will be nitto nt01

I'm switching to the 15x8 Slipstreams myself. I'm the one that started the special order on the 15x8s to get them produced. Contact me if you decide to go with the 15x8s.

I run the 15x8s with Hoosier 225/45/15s. Switching from 15x7 Koseis to 15x8 Slipstreams, the tires have an approx. 1/2" wider section width!! I was very surprised. In fact, my 225/45/15 Hoosiers are wider than 245/45/16 Toyos on a 16x7 Rota Slip. Granted the 245 is severely pinched, but anyway....

The extra width is more than worth the weight penalty.

I say go with the 15x8. If we could use 8" wide in honda-challenge (h2) that's what I would be using.

what is the advantage besides more tire on the ground from the holeshot ? I would imagine it would handle better but how much will a few extra pounds affect acceleration beyond the launch ? Because i have always been told that reducing unsprung weight is very critical and improves almost all aspects of the car performance wise. Wider stance perhaps ???

you want what's best for drag racing or auto-x / track days / road racing? I'm not sure what's the best for drag racing but I know fatter tires have always help me on a road race course. fatter tire = faster overal lap times, provided you didn't make the tire taller.
