Default D15Z1 swap to D16Y5

I have a 1995 VX with a D15Z1 engine with 200000+ miles on it. I also have a D16Y5 engine from a 1998 HX that I had before some idiot rear-ended me. The D16Y5 only has 40000 miles on it. I would like to swap it into my 95 VX. Does anyone have experience with this type of swap?
Almost all of the block / head threaded holes, water, oil and electrical sensor locations appear to be compatible.
The front pulley is slightly larger. The dip-stick is in the front not the side. Will the original engine management compute work with this larger engine?

Any input will be appreciated.

Thanks
Brian

It will definitely work fine. Just make sure you use the ECU and (if you don't like electrical work) the wiring harness from the HX. I myself am looking for a d15z1 to swap into my 200,000 mile HX.... Also, if you want better FE use the VX tranny while if you want better acceleration use the HX tranny. It will all bolt in fine....That is what is nice about Honda/Acura.

if you can figure out a way to use the hx ecu, then go for it.

otherwise you're going to have a lot of fun trying to figure out how to run that engine with an obd1 ecu.

options...

the P07(VX ECU) will run the Y5 fine until you get on the throttle, then it will run lean. (very bad) You could logically increase the fuel pressure a little to compensate but it would be difficult to tell how much without wideband readings. Even then there may be some instances that the enging runs rich.

The P2N(HX ECU) would be a pain to get to work in your VX. All though it's far from impossible.

A chipped VTEC ECU (see P28 or converted P06) tuned for the Y5, will run it well but it will not be using the 5-wire O2, thus it will not get near the mpg as you would with the P2N(HX ECU) or the P07(VX ECU)

which way you go is up to you.

Sorry, I assumed you had the HX ECU and wiring harness.....if you have that then you should be in good shape.
