Default CRV owners post your MPG!

Hello!

Im just curious what all other CRV owners are getting as far as MPG because this is my daily and I dont believe Im getting as good of gas milage as I should be getting.

Here are some notes as far as the CRV is concirned:

Fuel Tank holds 15.3gals
The 98 CRV is rated at 22city and 25hwy.

i think there's an old mpg posting but i'll entertain you anyway

in my 97, i get about 22 mpg overall with about 1/2 freeway and 1/2 street, going about 80mph on the freeway.

as for all freeway mpg, i get about 25-27 mpg avg 80 mph. i'd assume you could get close to 28 mpg freeway if you were going slower

towing a 12ft aluminum fishing boat with motor (with me, an adult passenger, and two kids in the back), i got about 21 mpg freeway/street as well, very surprised. of course, i did drive slower, at about 65-70 mph

This is good info. I'm looking to buy a 1st gen CRV. I was going to buy a 5th gen accord, but from what i've read, the crv gets almost the same mpg as the 4cyl. accord

Damn its not looking good for me...

Right now and this is only the first time Im actually trying to calculate it...

But looks like im only getting *15mpg! YIKES!

*Though it should be noted that on the way to work I was doing over 80mph since I was late...

Anyone know if the 98 2WD CRV's got an O/D 5th gear? I doubt it.

only 4 speed. with OD keeping car locked in 3rd gear. (mainly for driving around 40mph or less).

philadelphia/south jersey area: 2000 se 4spd auto mixed driving city/highway 25mpg regular gas. consistently.

So I did another half a tank calculation..

22mpg this was mostly on city driving...

Looks like its killing me on the Hwy though

Im thinking about buy a shell and dropping in my old SOHC D15 motor in it just for the commute...that would mean 4 hondas ! YAY!

Being that the CRV 2wd auto doesnt have an Overdrive... I wonder if I can stuff the B18A/B auto tranny in there and it be a little better? I guess I might have to change out ECU's as well.

Any thoughts?

Probably would work. You would need the ecu to control the extra gear, but I don't know how the 5 speed gearing compares to the 4 speed. Would the crv driveshafts work with the b18 tranny? And while you're at it, drop a vtec head on it

Overdrive is any gear that is taller (numerically smaller) than 1.00:1. Every CR-V made to date has at least 1 overdrive gear.

I have the 07 CRV and I'm getting 25 MPG combined city and freeway. It it's mostly freeway, I easily get 29-30 MPG. Getting good mileage really depends on how drive or accelerate between stops.

I need to check my crv because i don't think i'm getting good gas mileage. I smell gas so i think it's running rich but i just keep forgetting to fill all the way up to check the mileage.
