Default Dropping an D15B into 91 Civic

I was wondering if someone could help me with some info. I have a buddy who bought a 91 civic with a D15B in the vehicle. The previous owner never completed the swap. I am stationed in Japan and have access to the junkyards which I can get parts CHEAP. Rather than him wiring up the stuff that needed wiring, would a harness from a D15B here drop straight in? He's looking for ECU part# so I can compare it to the one at the junkyard. Also, will a distributor from another honda work? I have looked all over, and they are all removed from the cars here. I am thinking the easiest thing to do is get him an ECU, harness and distributor. He drops that stuff in,and it is turn-key time. Any help would be appreciated.

The ECU for the D15B is a P08 I belive. Any SOHC Obd1 dist. should work for you, and you are going to have to make your own wiring harness and convert to MPFI if that hasn't already been done. There are alot of great swap instructions out there, just look around. You can also look for Mini-Me swaps for instructions too.

If I pull the ECU and harness out of a civic here in japan, will my buddy need an adapter harness. I have searched the forums, but it seems most people are trying to use there old harness and adapt it. I have access to a JDM D15B ECU and harness. Pretty much the car is sitting at an Okinawan junkyard with just the distributor removed.

Thanks for the assistance
Joe

The harness will have to be modified regardless. The JDM harness is rhd and USDM civic is lhd so the harness will be shorter, so he will have to have them lengthened. It's best to just modify he current harness, especially since the extent of the swap completeness is not known.

Yes send him the ECU and Harness He will need both. He will have to make 1 harness out of the 2. It all depends on to what extent the swap had been completed!
