Has anyone else had a problem with the screw that holds the rotor on the shaft in the dizzy coming loose?I had it happen when i got the car so i bought a new rotor and i used the new screw that came with it and it would come loose.I ended up getting another dizzy when the first one crapped out and the screw comes out on this one also.I know that im tightening it enough and to make sure i had other people tighten it but it still comes loose.
i dont knw what would be worse.. having the screw not stayin or having it stuck in there.. i had to drill mine out and use a self tapping screw.. and it didnt hold it tight so it flopped around. it still worked good somehow. i was happy when i replaced it because of the mpfi swap

Im sure thread lock would hold it there but replacing the rotor in the future will be a pain in the ****. I would try something a little less permanent first so you can actually replace the rotor in the future.
I would try something like RVT Silicone, that is not a threadlock but it would help and be super easy to replace and get off in case the silicone didn't work. It might be just enough to hold it there and if it doesn't work use the weaker (blue???) threadlock.

swews? whats srews... screw them little things... u dont need them.;... they all broke off on me & i just left them there.... there are only there for when the car is being made on the assembly line so the rotor doesn't fall off

he is talking about the dizzy rotor screw. I have had the same problem they vibrate loose. what I did to solve the problem is get a regular hex head bolt with the proper thread and use a lockwasher on it. the phillips head screw doesnt really let you get it very tight. with a hex head bolt you can tighten it, and the lockwasher will prevent it from happening again.

well i am glad i saw this post, i am having the same problem, except my screw stripped when it came out, so i stopped and honda and picked up a new screw today, but it will not go in, it is like the shaft itself is stripped... any suggestions ?
usually new rotor and cap should come with a new set screw for the rotor.. dont know why you had to go to honda to get one.. if the whole is too big put a bigger screw in.. thats about all you can do.
The worst for me was that I couldn't get my car started after I replaced the fallen rotor and screw...it had me stumped for a while(days). I decide to take the rotor off and low and behold..the rotor shaft had two holes (one that went right thru the shaft)...in my hurry I just put it back in the first hole that lined up. I could not get the damn thing started....the timing was off a whole 180 degrees. I marked the correct hole, lined it up, installed the rotor...and what do you know, it starts on the very first crank
It's always the simple stuff that stumps me.

someone did use a threadlocker with allen screw, guess what? I broke the screw trying to take it off, tried to drill it out with no success, i had to buy another distributor from a fellow crx owner. I think you can use threadlocker after you screw it down, put a little bit on sides, instead of putting it on the threads.
I always use locktite...but i dont know about taking it out in the future. All the threadlocker in the world wont save you from this though:

The rotor straight melted off the distributor shaft..
