I just installed an oddsey PC680 battery in the cargo ben.
I did a battery relocation today. I installed a oddsey PC680 sealed battery in the cargo ben behind the front seats. I just had to trim the curved bottom alittle to get it to sit flat. I used the amp wires that were already ran to get power up front and used a 100amp kicker fuse for the car and amp fuse. The amp wire hits a distrubtion block under the carpet under the xbox and one runs to the main fuse panel that was under the hood but is now under the xbox also and the other wire runs to the starter. Thats it. I also made a heat sheild for the air filter out of seatmetal. Nice and simple it took maybe 1 hour to do it but if you had to run all new wires maybe 1 1/2 hours.

What you think?

i didn't know those batteries could be put on there side. yea thats a sweet place for it all out of the way. could you post a picture of the intake shield with dimensions i think i want to make one.

Very, very well done! I like that sheild you made. Very nice.
1 question.

Why not just run a hose from the intake tube to the valve cover? 2 mini filters just seems silly, especially since the one on the tube is drawing hot air.

cause it looks cool man....not to mention with the "extra" filter on the intake it gets more airflow....LMAO

ive never seen it there either , was there any particular reason for putting it there? and yea those air filters.....not feeling them, and aside from the tube, i heard and oil catch cans better , but thats wat i heard
I was going to run a catch can but I'm trying to get reid of as much stuff under the hood as posable. I think I'm going to get a catch can eventually.
I'll get the dimintions of the heat sheild sometime today and post them. It took me 20MIN to make it. No saw just a hamer and a pair of tin snips.

so leave the filter on the VC and cap the one on the intake tube....the second filter on the tube is useless, i just hope you didn't fork out the money for two filters when all you needed to do was cap the tube hole

Here are the demintions of the heat sheild. I used flat metal with holes predrilled in it(the same stuff that holds a garage door to the roof of the garge. Pic of it below.

EDIT ignor the top hole at the bottom of the shield use the bottom one. You don't need the top one at all.

Yea I know that was a leftover piece I found. But I don't have any cutting wheels for my drimal and a hack saw is to slow. I used a old chisel and a hammer to score it and then bent it back and forth till it came apart.
I installed the battery in the bin because it was out of the way and I don't really have any room in my trunk so I thought it would be a nice and diff. place to locate it to.

I have my battery in the same spot. My battery is just turned to the opposite side and I have a metal strap over the battery. The cargo ben is a great place for a relocation IMO.

Went cruising tonight and I had no problems with the battery. Lights on system hitting and sitting in traffic and my lights were not dimming at all. and the 100amp fuse didn't have any issues. I did notice the car seamed to handle better in the curves due to the fact I moved alot of weight to the back of the car.
Overall the Odyssey pc680 is great and well worth the price.
Only problem I ran into was my amp over heated and shut off. But that has nothing to do with the battery relocation.

It would look better if you just caped off the intake and only have a filter on the v-cover.
