i have a '00 civic si b16a2
addons:
- intake manifold
- fuel rail
- aem short intake, and filter
- dc headers
- high flow catylitic
- cat back exaust

my question is when i hear my vtec engage( around 5500 rpms)
it doesnt seems to much other that change the tone of the exaust
no real noticable change in power..althoug its hard for me to tell..
it my first honda..so im not sure what its suppose to be like...
but i hear other describe it like its very noticable in power/torque

anythoughts if this normal. or what normal should be like?
any help on general info about what i should expect...

also given my current setup is there any simple /cheap addons to unlock more power? like bigger fuel injectors or something?

Thats the good ole b16 for ya. ITR or CTR intake cam should give it that extra pull

Get rid of one of the headers and the fuel rail. That might help. What exhaust? You should just hear the intake sreaming.

 

funny i just put a b16a2 in a 94 teg and its the same thing. Lacks power seen it lose to a 92 ted with a slipping clutch.

because it has no torque! what were you expecting? a rocket? lol many b16s ive seen that are lightly modded arent much faster than a sohc civic... my civic to be exact. i beat them off the line and they dont pull me till 3/4 down the track
