Default battery question

hey guys
i have a 2000 civic sir and going with a optima battery and relocating it to the trunk. i have the box, wires and the battery now whats the best way to do this? do i need fuse on the positive if so which one? easy way the route the wire? is this a safe mod to do with a daily driving car? sorry for the rookie questions just have kids and want it to be safe..

someone at auto forums said not to do this mod because the stock alternator will not charge it? and kill the battery even if i use the 800 ca optima battery.. i don't know if thats true can some one help me..please.

thanks in advance

I did it on my 96 civic hatch and everything seems to be fine. U need a fuse on the positive from the battery to your fuse box. the fuse goes about 12 inches from your battery. I routed my wire through the firewall down the whole passenger side behind all the interior peaces, i then drilled holes in my rear pannel the same size as my + & - and ran them through to the battery. dont forget about the starter wire.

Stinger makes a really nice flexible 0/1 awg, I believe it's their Expert series.
