I can post pictures of my 5Gen. 4Gen shouldn't be much different.

Your cage is just crazy Billy! Looks like a Spider Web!!

What I am after is a cage that would be streetable yet legal for Sub 12 drag racing without destroying the interior. This is not going to be THE Track car.

Does it require a halo? If not, I'd do a custom 4 point roll bar, with two removable door bars. I'd be concerned about driving a car with a halo an no helmet.

you guys don't wear helmets on the street?

I'd like to see someone make a weld up kit for the lude, just a 4 or 6 point but I'm sure it'll never happen.

You could always get an Autopower 4 point roll bar, then add removable door bars. Then again, a custom bar will always fit better than a kit bar (unless the guy doing the custom work isn't very good!). I couldn't imagine a boxed kit fitting nearly as well as my custom cage.

I wish I was able to do it myself! Todd Oppermann of Topp Racing did it. Don't ask how much it cost.

I can post better pictures later this weekend. I don't have many good pictures of the back half.

Not sure on the extra weight. If I had to guess, I'd say 100 lbs or so? The tubing is 1.5" OD x 0.120 mild steel.

The car weighs just a tad under 2700 with me in it and about 3/4 tank of gas as it sits now with the cage, 1 seat, and everything else. I'm not skinny by any means either.

Not sure about his exact cage but I know its easy to cross the $2500 mark with a Spider Web setup like that.
I am going ot have to do some research on WHAT is req'd for Sub 12's. I'd like to get away as basic as possible. Probably going to be a Winter 07-08 Project. My height as always is going to come into play with this. I have to be able to put the seat as far back as possible. Going to use some sort of Racing seat with harnesses for Track Days until the car is Track Day Retired and gets the Turbo Motor.

i didn't mean to offend if i did, i forgot i stole those pics from you lol
the only car i've been in with a cage is a fox body mustang
i don't have much experience with them and now that i think about it, it's probably not worth the money to try to fab something over the speaker holes to make it look flush

what exactly are the options with a cage?
my cousin does fabrication and has offered to make me one when i get ready, i'm just not sure what i want to do with the interior or how the cage should be designed ("?"-point)

It's cool. I'll take some other pics hopefully this weekend and show you guys the finished product and how the cage looks with everything in place
