Default Kite's 94 VTEC minor rebuild!

My 1994 VTEC is going under the knife soon, nothing too major from the rest of the build ups on the board but it's a pretty big thing for me (broke *** college student much?). It's going under because my original b16 has developed a knock and I need to replace the block, I figured while I'm in there I'll take care of a few other things.

Here's the basic setup now (minus the motor info because its getting replaced):

Suspension
- Mugen copy upper strut
- Koni Yellow Shocks
- Omni Power Coilover sleeves
- 16" Rota GT3 (black)
- Yokohama Parada spec 2's up front (95%), Azenis in the rear (80%)

Exterior:
- Mugen Copy Front bumper without aux holes.
- Color Matched Sideskirts
- Fresh Milano Red paint (about 9 months old)

Interior:
- 97 del Sol Seats
- Custom black w/ Red Stitch shift and ebrake boots
- Momo Monte Carlo Steering wheel and hub.
- Project Mu Shift ****
- Sparco Grip Pedals
- Custom black w/ red trim OEM replica floor mats.
- OEM CD player and new speakers.

Pics:

Planned Motor:
- JDM B16a SiR II Long block (DONE)
- Skunk 2 Intake Manifold (DONE)
- B&M FPR and Guage (DONE)
- GSR tranny w/ Phantom Grip LSD (DONE)
- Exedy Stage II clutch (DONE)
- Greddy EVO Piping w/ a high flow cat, ES Oval Muffler (DONE)

Other Plans:
- Doing a full exterior detail/buff (The paint is decent but it was a cheap job, could use some polishing)
- Replacing some seals/rubber trim on the outside.
- Painting the gt3's white (or getting new wheels)
- Partial wire tuck and engine bay dress up (when we take out the old block and put in the new one).
- Taking out the gauge pod from the inside. (DONE)
- New Seats (f1spec type II) (DONE)
- Getting the AC working (just needs a new receiver dryer and charge)
- Possibly more if I find the money.

I ordered my seats yesterday (couldn't miss F1Spec's deal on their seats) I got the Type 2 in FRP/Red

Ordered the long block this morning, should be shipping out today. Ordered from TorontoJDM, most other places were sold out and they gave me a nice deal.

TorontoJDM sent me pictures of my actual motor with my tracking information.

Seats came in early, had to add a personal touch to the back of the drivers seat.

Got a little bit of air bubbles in it, but they'll come out.

Was driving to a doctors appointment on 03/27 and the motor went, I was out of gear when it shut off so my transmission is still good. Good thing my new motor gets here on thursday.

Pics from getting her towed about 40 miles to where I can work on the car

Attempt 1 to get it on the wrecker:

Had to do it this way:

After taking out the seats, I realized how dirty my carpet was, so I had to clean it.

The bay as it was:

Before cleaning (pollen and dirt galore):

After the outside was cleaned up:

Uncleaned new motor:

Sat the new seats in with no brackets to see what they looked like (this is the only pic that came out half decent):

More pics this weekend as my seat rails will come in friday, my new a-pillar and exterior seals came today, and the motor is out so it's time to clean and tuck.

Finally made some progress, I forgot my real camera so the cell pics will have to do.

Motor out (not cleaned up or tucked yet):

Started painting the grey panels black, came out really nice:

Finally took out the gauge pod and put in my new a pillar:

New brackets came in, but I had to custom drill holes, so I only mounted the drivers side:

You can see the black speaker panels and mounted seat:

This week hopefully the motor goes in and the tuck is done, I'll drill the other bracket for the seat and paint the door panels.

Also, anyone know how to replace the seal on the rear B pillar? you can see it in the last pic (its painted red, the seal that goes up and around the rear pillar by the brake light). Do I need to take that panel off or can I peel it out?

Finally moving the new motor into the car.

In she goes!

Dinner break, this ended up on my camera...

All in! Dirty and not tucked, but I really needed my car back, so its running and I'll get to cleaning it up and all that in a bit.

The drive home at 3:30 A.M. after she was finally running.

The car was smoking and idling at 2k, but we were beat and I had class at 9 so we called it a night. I headed back over today and we figured out we didn't hook the PCV up so we did that and she ran proper. The car drives like a dream now, much more solid feeling through the revs, overall the car is quieter and just feels more solid, I love it.

I still have some cleaning to do and small odds and ends but the motor is in!

Their site says they're sold out, I'll give them a call though.
