itr head
im gonna go to the dealer to pick my car up soon. they told me that they installed a complete brand new head on the engine. before i pick it up, i want to know what kind of markings/stampings on the head would verify that it is an actual itr head.
i just dont want the dealer to dick me and give me a gsr head or any sort.
pics would be helpful
thanks

GSR head, they are completely different. Different intake runners and the intake manifold bolts dont share the same pattern. The GSR Head will say p72 and the ITR head is stamped p-73 or PR3

im sure there are some pretty big legal issues if they knowingly dick u and throw on a gs-r head instead of an itr head.....
well, i'm asking this because when the dealership said that they dropped in a brand new head, i thought to myself how is that possible. i thought new heads were all on backorder for a few months (unless that dealership had one in stock), which i read in a post about a week ago. i'm just curious of how and where they got the head.
i'll find out later today when i pick the car up

it will be an itr head they can't put a gsr head because of the intake mani and a b16a head is the same stamp i think so check for the green stuff at the dist
UPDATE:
i just picked up the itr. the brand new head i got is indeed stamped pr3. i'm actually quite happy right now knowing that the new head didn't cost me a penny. the engine started very smoothly and seemed to rev quicker than before (maybe i'm experience itr withdrawals for a week
).
The downside of this whole experience is that the tranny is fukked up from the misshift. Clutch doesn't grab and seems really loose. Everytime the clutch is engaged all the way to the floor, a chatter sound emits from the tranny. So maybe the clutch or flywheel or maybe both is fukked. Not only that the gears are grinding and the 1-2-3-4-5-R shift is really stiff - i have to force it in gear and not as notchy as before. in other words my whole tranny is fukked
.
I couldn't tell the dealership about this because it would of been obvious that i misshifted. i'll take it back and see if they will cover this problem under warranty at a later time.

just shorten the rod about 1/16th of an inch or so just behind the clutch pedal, that will correct the chatter problem with the clutch, may help you engage smoother too., but will definitely get rid of the chatter if nothing else. All you need is a 12mm wrench, and I believe you rotate the rod counter-clockwise to shorten it. Only takes a couple mins max.
Green markings is right by the distributor. Its going to be hard to tell if indeed it is an itr head from a base b16, but at least you have your car and have good news to tell after driving it.
