Is it possible to silence the buzzing/rattling in your exhaust if you don't have a cat? i don't want to bring too much attention when i am driving next to a cop.
I don't have a heat shield.

Ummmmm, fairly simple: Bolt in a high-flow converter and call it a day.
Instead of trying to "get away with something", just replace your converter with a high-flow unit since the only thing you will gain with out it is noise.

I agree.
I saw a good write up in a magazine about having a high quality high flow cat vs. no cat and the dynos showed only maybe a 1-2 horsepower gain... i myself am guilty of a strait through cat but this spring when I get the car back out im investing in a high flow cat to quiet it down
