its like a supercharger noise. I did a valve adjustment myself and double checked each one to be on spec. the ticking noise went away. drove it for 2 day everything was good and all of a sudden yesterday i start hearing that whining noise that comes and it goes. i can hear it while driving it, then i come to a stop and you can still hear it. after the car is idling for a minute it goes away. then i'll start driving it again and it comes back.
you can hear it louder inside the car.
i checked all belts and they seem fine.

Mine does it too LOL. Its my stereo, when you got it up loud pretty much over max

 

Did you touch/adjust the timing belt at all?

 

i touched to feel the tension, i might of had some oil on my fingers at the moment but i dont think that can be the problem.... i dont know... what do you think

 

do you think the cams might be whining?

 

i dont even have a radio in my car

 

i just red through this thread thread on T-I.net
and i remembered that i took my car to get a tranny flush and the guys there put mobil1 gear oil, and thats a big no no. you think that can be causing the whining noise.

 

check your alternator, had the same problem with my car
