Hey guys i want to build a fast little LS, i have a 97 Integra LS so far only I/H/E system. I heard the P30 pistions are the best for my car is this right and these are the right ones right?

Do Cam gears even do anything? I am also getting a Camshaft for my car also and need brand suggestings or Model. (Need to run premium after this right?) I want Stage 2 will it pass Cali Smog????

Any other Mods you guys suggest that i do while i am inside or around engine? I think i need to upgrade my fuel pump?

i would suggest getting camshaftS, just one camshaft wont do much good.....

http://www.nonvtec.com has some good info on non vtec builds, as does the N/A section here.

 

I'm sure someone will disagree with me but I'd be cautious about what cams you use. It may not pass the sniffer at the smog station. Even LS/VTEC conversion may not pass visual unless approved with a bar label from a referee but i could be wrong there. If you go with LS/VTEC stay with Civic Type R cams. you may have a better chance with those cams. Some one else may have some experience with a smog test with this set up.

 

How would i pass a LS-Vtec? I really want to do Vtec but don't want to worry about smog..

 

If you did a GSR swap, you'll be okay with smog since that was an optional engine for that vehicle. Just keep all the emission controls intact. LS/VTEC might be considered modified by a seasoned inspector thus causing you to fail.

Is Vtec worth the price? Around 1K for a extra 10hp about? would the accleration be faster?

Ot should i just stay with Dual overhead LS B18b and get come good cameshafts, pistions, camgears, and maybe Turbo..

 

10 hp? how;d you come up with that?

you;d be looking at about 30 crank... wanna make it fast? 3k for a turbo after that, total 4 for about 250 crank and you've got a quick little car.

the way i see it, you at least get the vtech for a higher redline... then the turbo for a bunch more power... although personally, im thinking sc for that torque increase. whats 250 hp if you can't climb a hill?

 

i have some crower stage 1 cams for your LS. I built my LS before using these, blox intake mani, and itr tranny with 4.7 fd. Man, my car pulled. I have em for sale if u want. PM me if u want these.

 

30 Hp really is it worth it then Vtec? If so that is my next product...
