Default HELP horrible wheel hop

I took my dc5 to the track last night and everytime I would launch I got rediculous wheel hop the worst I have ever seen and I have had a few fwd's out there and this was by far the worst. I tryed launching from different rpms from 3500 - 5000 and it just seemed to get worse. I have stock suspension and motor mounts

Quit dropping the clutch and quickly slip it out instead. You aren't doing competition so there's no need to stress the drivetrain anymore than needed.

ESMM or engine torque dampener would help as well.

its probably your driving. harder to drive that rsx than a civic.

i've launched turbocars at 6k, and ive never had hard wheelhop and had good 60 foots. ive seen videos and driven in that car during a launch, sounds terrible.

good luck

on a stock engine
esmm would help with the wheel hop tremendously
i would say about 80-90% eliminated

I hit a 14.6 at 95mph 2.2 60ft. Would different tires help? I used to run bfg drag radials on my prelude and it never had wheel hop.

If you want zero wheel hop after dropping the clutch, switch to solid engine mounts. You'll hate driving on the street, but you'll love the launches you get. You may need to upgrade other drivetrain parts to deal with the extra stress, too.

Otherwise, you can install a torque damper (already included from the factory on the 06+ Si, for example), urethane inserts, urethane/harder rubber mounts, etc.
