ok, well i just had my car smogged last year (november to be exact) and i sold my car over the weekend. When the new owner tried to get the car smogged it failed the actual smog measurement test.

Now a week before i sold the car i had my aftermarket header (DC sports) rewelded because i had cracked it when i hit a bump-so they rewelded a piece to replace the dented portion of the header along with welding the crack.

Well now the buyer of my car took the car to get smogged and it did not pass. The guy at the smog place says that it is the CAI and header that is causing it to fail, BUT i have passed twice legally with these aftermarket parts on. So my question is, would the work that was done to the header cause the car to not pass smog? I dont understand what else would cause this problem, I just smogged this thing 4 months ago with no problems

 

just to give heads up you the seller are responsible for smog prior to handing over the vehicle or else you will be held responsible...again this might not be what you were looking for but just thought i add this...

its also hard to give a response to your question without being there thru out the test with the tech and him telling why it didnt pass...also might help if you add the reading(paperwork)....
