spray can primer/base coat/clear all from http://www.paintscratch .com came out just as good as my professional paint job on the exterior of the car...

i just repainted all the interior for my 89 240sx... it was all the nasty blue factory color. i am more than pleased with the results, looks like OEM color and cost a total of $15 and about 3hrs of work
edit: i used Duplicolor Vinyl/Fabric Coating... had it on there for a few weeks and its still good as new even around the handles and armrest and kick panels
that get tons of wear

for mine, i washed them down really well with regular dish soap... then scuffed LIGHTLY with a scotch brite pad, then put on about 3-4 even coats until i got the color i was looking for. i've painted cars before and stuff like that, so im pretty good with spray control and stuff, but just take ur time and make sure you dont overspray and get drips, and make the coats as even as you can

I am looking to get a compressor for air tool use and to start spraying.
Would a 24ltr compressor be ok, what should i look for when getting a compressor suitable for this?

Good bit of taping and a little patience. I used a air brush gun to get the tighter spots then used a bigger gun for the rest.

used Sata Minijet 3000 with 1.0 tip for the roll cage. Painted that House of Kolor Turble Shimrin blue pearl. Then used House of Kolor UFC35 Flow clear
used Sata RP 3000 Digital gun with 1.2 tip for the back of the car, Painted it dupont Chromabase F1695K(Honda's Vogue silver Metallic) and Clear

was it originally red, and you just sprayed over?
I'm thinking this would be harder for a car that was to be painted a completely different color from stock.

Yeah it was red before I painted it the same color. I agree it would be a lot more harder if the color was different.
