Well I had this problem after doing an obd0 - obd1 along with a z6 swap into my ef. The dash lights would not work. the cel, oil, turnsignals etc. would work fine, but not the lights behind the speedo and tack.
I searched everywhere for a solution and nobody had one. Well finally two days ago, shortly after buying my new parts car. I had the fuse box (under dash) out and I noticed that on the backside of the fusebox, there is a little white "module" thing (I dont know how else to describe it) about the size of a pack of smokes. Well mine smelt kind of funny, like burnt plastic. so I thought i might as well change it with the one from my parts car, just cause.. and what do you know, i turn the car on, and my dash lights work.

So for anyone out there that has this problem, and can't find a solution, give this a try!

I actually had a problem like that but it was a bad ground on my stereo shorting them out.
