Default 00 ITR w/OEM LSD or 97 JDM ITR w/ QUAFFIE LSD

I don't care about the spelling above but which do you feel would be a better choice? There's a $400 difference between them and I'm not sure the JDM w Q would be worth it. Can you help me by giving some input please?

[EDIT]

97 JDM Trans W Q:
Tranny has about 300 miles on it since it has been refreshed with new bearings, seals tolerances checked and quaife lsd put in. No grinds and it shifts perfectly.

00 ITR Trans w OEM:
Stock ITR tranny has 35k on it. No grinds etc..

00 ITR with OEM LSD. Quaife will not disclose the torque bias ratio for their unit or any other means of quantifying its proper operation besides catastrophic failure, which they cover under warranty. (In other words, their warranty is meaning less unless you grenade your transmission.) The OEM unit has a clear operation check procedure in the Helm manual.

Not sure of the performance difference but both are helical type LSD's.

I know there is a difference in 96 and 98 spec trans but it's not very different. is there a major difference in USDM vs JDM?

The 98+ Spec JDM ITR had the 4.785:1 FD vs the 4.400:1 FD of the USDM and earlier JDM transmissions. Both transmissions that you mentioned would have the 4.400:1 FD.

quaife no doubt, much stronger and has a lifetime warranty, ive only heard of a few of them breaking where-as oem have been known to break when power is put through them, not only that but if its refreshed with new bearings and seals it will be overall alot better for the long run

quaife ftmfw!!!

Unless a JDM ITR transmission has the 4.785:1 FD, it is exactly the same as the USDM ITR transmission. The traansmissions in question should both have the 4.400:1 FD.
