i think it's cool. I mean they look good, don't weigh much, and cost next to nothing. They are definitely a cool company. In fact, I know I'll get some flames for this but when I pulled up next to another Integra with "genuine" wheels that my rotas ripped off, I liked the bronze shade of mine better.

If I could afford a Lamborghini... I would probably get irritated by cheap Fiero knock-off kit cars... but to someone who really likes the look of the Lamborghini, and the performance of a lightweight, mid-engined car with a V8 in it... the Kit-Car is a nice alternative. Others just don't want to pay $250,000 for a car.

In my situation... I think paying $1,500 for a set of rims is ridiculous.

I don't like Gram Lights because they're Volks... I like them because of the way they look. Rota pulls off the same look, for less money... and they're still good performers.

I can see how everyone who pays all this money would get pissed off by the knock-offs... but... not everyone budgets thousands of dollars for rims... some of us "enthusiasts" have other hobbies, families, bills, we don't live with our parents, etc. etc.

Me personally, I have different priorities than most of you.
I have spent a total of $100 on mods to my car (used AEM CAI) but it's funny... I'm still faster than most of the Integra's around here, with thousands of dollars in mods, including lightweight wheels, i/h/e, cf hoods, etc.

My money is spent on another sickness... home theater.

I can see both sides. I just happen to be on the Rota side of this argument.

The same thing goes for Home Theater though... you can buy a "name brand" projector, like Runco... or Seleco... or you can buy a better performing projector without the "Home Theater" distinction for literally tens of thousands less.

It's all about taste, don't hate.

 

IM starting to hate JDM ****** that have every roadrace/Jdm part and only show up for car shows and car meets but never get to experiance late braking or find out what the hell a apex is

Oh wait a minute, i think spoon/mugen/toda came out with new catalogs that state there parts are now aimed for the car show heads

Buy and like what you want, and let people buy and like what they want serious herbs on this site sometimes.

Whatver YOU do, do it because YOU want to. Not because of what people say or do on this website or any other. No matter what you have you cannot please everyone on every site, board, track or whatever so..... just do it because YOU like it or want it.

My personal opinion on Rota's....

I think they make a very good wheel at a very good price. I would definately recommend them to people. Those of us who happen to have the money or care to spend more on different wheels... well... that's great too.

IMO if YOU wanna spend more money on Wheels, CF Hoods, Seats, or WHATEVER other parts that YOU like and OTHERS may deem useless.... GREAT!! As long as YOU are happy, that is all that matters. It is YOUR money, spend it as you wish!

Volk doesnt even have the forged gramlight available yet. All they have is cast. So rota has the same wheel as volk.

 

For some items I think a brand name is better. For example any dj's here ever try out a Gemini turntable? Nothing but maybe a Vestax compares to the 1200.

I don't think this is the same with wheels. If it weights the same, passes all of the saftey tests then it's close enough for me. Like most people I rather spend $1000 and have $1000 in the bank.

haha hell yea. i own rota myself, get em at cost through friends that sell them. id rather see everyone on rotas, then the usual people with a bunch of authentic road race bred parts , that never road race, thats gayer then "fake rims".theres so many kids with sw388's and other expensive commodities, that just drag or street race or sit on carpet. thats

Rotas is one of the best rim companies IMO. . .
They're CHEAPER and about as light as the real deal wheels. . .

Okay... this Rota vs. Expensive wheel debate is reeeeeeeally old...

I had Rota's on my GSR ($440). I now have Volk GTNs on my Eclipse ($1600). Both wheels are good quality. I got/get MANY compliments on both rims. Neither rim ever bent. Basically, the point is... get what you can afford. Rota makes quality rims that bite off of other expensive brands style. It really doesn't bother me if someone pulls up next to me with GTN knock-offs or something b/c that's obviously all they could afford. When I had my 'teg, all I could afford were Rota's... wrecked the 'teg... got lots of money and I could suddenly afford the Volks. All you other 'expensive' wheel owners need to relax. Does it bother you THAT much that someone else has a rim that they paid less for that looks similar to yours? It doesn't bother me one bit b/c I know that I bought the rims that I love and they look bad *** hell whether they're Volks OR Rotas. That's what hooking you car up is all about... doing what YOU like and most importantly... doing what your wallet can afford.

 

Its just a waste of time. You'll never change the mind of a hater. I guess they feel that they are true to the "game" if they only use genuine parts.

 

Yep, you are correct. Go through ANY thread here. They are SO easy to spot, the pathetic, worthless, no life having losers I actually think it's pretty funny. They only make themselves look stupid when they speak, IMO.
