Default Rebuilding Motor.

Still pretty new to this forum and my car, so looking for some new opinions.. I've thought everything from getting a GSR motor swap, LS swap, LS/VTEC, Turbo LS, etc..

But, what it comes down to right now is that my motor needs to be swapped or rebuilt soon.. I'm going to Turbo my car, so as a few of you guys said, I could swap but I'd just have to swap again in a couple of months because of the turbo.

Anyways, I think rebuilding the LS motor I have now is probably the best way to go then turbo it in a couple of months. Does rebuilding really make your engine "like" new? How much would rebuilding the engine from the ground up w/ turbo in mind cost me? If anybody has done this before, help is very appreciated, thank you.

if broken in built properly and broken in property it will be "like new". since you are rebuilding w/turbo in mind, i would suggest going all out and getting your block resleeved, some stronger rods and some lower compression pistons, if not a thicker headgasket. if you do it all yourself, it should come to around $1000-$1500 without the resleeving (incl. pistons, rods, all new gaskets and bearings) then of course the kit will cost around $2500-$3000

you will loose power from the lower comp, but once you get the turbo you will benefit from it more.

i would recommend the same. golden eagle sleeves, forged pistons and crower rods...all oem gaskets and bearings, it should be bulletproof. i wouldnt go too low w/ compression...tuning would be the key here since the block would be sleeved and reinforced.
