I used a no name CAI (free), $100 (used) Skunk intake mani (highly recommended, HUGE power difference), a free DC 4-1 header, a HUGE homie discounted VAFC (my homie wasnt huge...the discount was), a muffler shop 2.25'' exhaust with vibrant "quiet" muffler. There were other parts on that car too...like a $300 CTR 5-lug with wheels, $20 si cluster, free carbing cooling plate (which i gave away), free ctr shift boot, $30 itr shifter, man the list goes on and on...never paid full price for anything. Built it all in 7 months. Man...God really must have liked that car, and wanted me to save my money. Anyway....I had that on a B16A in a 99 hatch. I was extatic.

For reference, my friend had a 98 hatch with a B18C5, lightened flywheel, clutchmaster st. 3 clutch, vibrant 4-1 (really nice...no ground clearance tho), VAFC, no accesories, AEM V2, RS*R exmag, no cat, SKUNK ecu program, and i think other stuff. We raced from a 35mph roll, and stayed DEAD even till about 70-75 after which he pulled away. We stopped at around 85 with him ending up about a 3/4 car to a full car ahead.

ANyway, for your set up, id use a 2.5 inch exhaust like an exmag for the nicest quiest, sweetest sound. Use a cat, unless you're a total jerk. My S2000 has a V2, and i really like it. Use a Skunk2 or likewise manifold for sure, they rule. 4-1 header with a 2.5'' collector. Should be golden.

Edit: the exmag is actually 2.35''

bolt on's arent going to give you any noticeable power for a reasonable price

the whole needing backpressure argument is a myth. do a search, as i know i've discussed it at least twice in the past week.

Iduno, 10-15 hp is a decent gain. Opening up a motor is kind of irritating, especially if its your only car. Plus you get to keep you gas mileage with bolt ons.

Not really, assuming you choose the proper ones. Now, 10-15 hp from "reasonably priced" bolt-ons is a different story.

My B16 made 500whp though. I drew a diagram of a burnout to demonstrate the anger, and shame that swelled every day in my B16s combustion chambers...but i couldnt load it on here because it was too rad.

Enough to keep people such as David Stadulis in business.
