Default mandrel bending vs just regular exhaust bending

Is there really a big gain to madrel bending, just wondering because there are no shops aound me that do this. Anyone know any shops around southern-mid Oregon or Northern Cali that will do mandel bending? and install my test pipe, res, and muff?

Thank you for any helpful info

most performance exhaust (even regular muffler shops) should be able to mandrel bend a custom exhaust.....

You can buy the piping from Kteller, all the mandrell bends that you need, then have your local shop cut and weld it up.

Yeah it sounds like if I want mandrel bend that's what I've got to do, but is there really a huge gain to mandrel?

Thanks for the replys

not really. mandrel benders are very expensive.

imagine blowing through a bent straw, where it kinks you start feeling a bit of restriction. now imagine blowing through one of those straws with the flexible part. it's not so restrictive.

it's the same thing with mandrel bending. it's not a huge gain, but every little bit counts.

For my DSM there was a pretty good difference between my 3in mandrel compaired to my 2.5in crush bend exhaust.

If your car isnt turbo or producing high hp im sure it wont be a big difference, but it will still be better for mandrel as its less restriction and its a true size the whole way down the pipe.

And most muffler/exhaust shops cant also do mandrel, just crush bending.
