Going to install Pistons and rings. Bore and Hone needed?
Well after my GSR B18C rebuild begins Saturday and I plan to install a set of JDM ITR pistons to raise compression.
Will I need to bore and hone my block or can I just slap these pistons in?? Some people say yes and some say no.

how many miles are on the block? if its a good bit i would hone it. if you dont theres a chance the rings will not seat. I would say anything over 20,000 mile then hone it. if you have it that far apart anyways you might as well. hope this helps
Definitely hone no matter how many miles are on it. Boring would be a good idea too, but you can probably get away without it if you have under 40k miles. It's still a gamble, though.
You have to hone the cylinder walls to help the rings seat properly. Boring is recommended with high miles but probably not required in your case.
