How would you be able to tell the difference between an original type-r seat and aftermarket style like?

 

So far I haven't seen any aftermarket USDM Type-R style seats. And yes, you can tell the different between the JDM Type-R seats and knockoffs. First off, there won't be Recaro on the headrest, nor the recline **** nor the seat release **** (to fold it foward). The material on the knockoff isn't Alcantara. The mounting holes for the rails will have three holes on each side of the seat, with two in the rear and one in the front (if I can remember correctly).

 

Wow there are alot of differences. Anyways I found a seat thats alot like the Type R seat with the exceptions that it doesnt say RECARO. http://www.yonaka.com is where i saw it fater running into a kid with the seat...

 

jdm itr seats will have recaro written in small letters under the belt holes. usdm srd's will have recaro written in big letters above the belt holes.
