Default 93' acura integra ??

im new to the site just registered ... but anyways im suppossed to be picking up a 93' integra rs from my friend this weekend if i want it ... so i thought why not ask some people to see if its worth it .. he doesnt really know much about cars and bought the car the way it is and drove it for about 2 years ...

1993 integra rs (black)
175,xxx miles
16" rota slipstream (black)
lowered like 2-3 inches
aem coldair intake
magnaflow catback exhaust

thats all the mods he knows thats done .. he said i can get the car for $2500 ... does it sound like its worth it ..

and he said it might have a 92-93 gsr swap in it or ls/vtec .. because he can beat SI's and 94+ grs's all day and 240's .. but hes not sure ..

so is it worth $2500 w/ stock motor .. and if it has the swap is it worth it ..

this isnt it but looks just like it (but w/ a canister muffler)

i cant get any pics of it cause i wont see him till this weekend .. but i dont think it says vtec .. so it might just be a stock motor or a ls/vtec .. but lets just say its a stock motor would it be worth it . (and would a stock motor w/ intake and exhaust be able to beat SI's and gsr's nor problem)

i meant like a ls/vtec conversion .. but im not really sure .. im gonna try to call him tomorrow and figure out ... but either way im prob. still gonna get it cause the interior is basically perfect no tears or stains (only missing the door handle cover on pass. side) and it runs fine ...

I dont know what your smoking but that DA is pretty clean and 2500 is nothing for it. The only DC you can get for that money would need another 2500 to make it look and run better.

2500 isnt that much and i would pick it up asap as long as it clean and has no problems.

k once again to lancer kid. every ls vtec will have a valve cover that says dohc vtec. the valve cover for a gsr or b16 does not match up with b18a/b. but yeah thats a good deal specially with the rota slips. i bought mine for 2000 but it was completely stock. now with intake headers exhaust and and throttle body it pulls on stock si's and gsr's. the b16 and b18B match up pretty well power wise b16's got more hp but less torque. so outa teh box yru integra should keep up with b16 si's. buy it join the rest of us proud DA owners

hmm ive never heard of this shaving the vtec letters on your valve cover,is this just for looks or are you tryin to hide the fact that its a vtec engine cause the vtec solenoid pretty much gives it away

ALL OEM B series vtec valve covers proudly state it, some people shave it for a cleaner look. but not many people do.

and the bolt pattern/number of bolts holding the valve cover down is a dead give away as well as the vtec solenoid mounted to the side of the head.

anyhow, OP, $2500 for a DA in good shape is a steal, any rust or body damage diminishes the price quickly though as some in descent shape can be had for hardly nothing.

i own a 93 rs that has a few more mods and fresh paint and have been offered $4500, so i would jump on it, stock motor or not, if its clean its a steal.

I'd only pay 2500 for that year that milage in PERFECT condition with all major maintenance done recently.

Plug it into edmunds.com... i find them to be a pretty reliable source of true market value... except for DC's, only reason being is that clean dc's are so damn hard to find.

you are right, its a good price no dout, but I got my 94 teggy for only 1300 in very good condition! I spend another 500 to put it on the road + around 2Gs for my JDM front end.... so..... again just dont rush...check around and make a move!

When you drive the car, as it hits higher RPM's with the gas floored, you'll clearly hear the the VTEC kick in. It'll get noticably louder and you'll feel it pick up.

Although it's uncommon, you can create a "sleeper" engine look by putting a stock non-vtec on a vtec head. I did this with a B18c1 GSR motor and a 91 integra stock cover. For someone taking a quick look under the hood, not specifically looking for the VTEC solenoid (or now knowing), they're going to think you've got a non-vtec car. But again....seems most people go the opposite direction and throw VTEC stickers on non-VTEC cars.
