Need advice on the JDM D-15 sohc vtec motor

I am wondering I am looking at puting a JDM D-15 sohc vtec motor in my EG hatch I am wondering I have heard that doing mods to that motor isin't that good that that motor doesn't respond to modifications good. I was looking at using these parts:

Skunk2 Intake manifold
Skunk2 Throttle body
DC Sports headers
J's racing air intake
