whats the whole point of a test pipe?
okay i know what a straight pipe is. makes a wierd rattling noise when you rev your motor and ish like that. does the test pipe do that? does it make any annoying sound to it? is it loud? would it increase performance if i just put it on with my stock Muffler and piping?

Of course in some states its way illegal to run a str8 pipe/remove the catalytic converter for street use. But, if you're the type of person that doesn't care then disregard what I just mentioned.
I noticed that you're in CA. If you get caught it's a $2500 fine. But it's supposed to be more free flowing and you should net a couple of extra hp from it.
i know its not the whole point of making that annoying sound. but my question was does it increase like hp or anything. do you guys really think its worth it? i wanna get one...i own a 2000 si and want to increase some torque. maybe some hp how do i do it without making it all loud... how loud is that ricey noise?
"It will release some pent up power....different cars vary though, so you'll have to go dyno and see the results. Also, you can also get a resonated str8 pipe which will tone down that 'ricey' pingy sound you get with an unresonated test pipe."

My testpipe made my exhaust so stinky, it would almost make me dizzy when I stopped at a light and sat there. Not to mention the ear bleeding noise my tanabe made with it on.

nasty fines. I just got an extra cat and banged it all out so if you look under the car you see a cat but it has nothing in it. Pesky coppers
