Practice the launch. With a 2.1 60 ft. and quicker shifting, you should pull 9's in the 1/8th. Just need more practice.

How do you know he wasn't already shifting very quickly?

If you missed third on the 10.4 run... then don't spin that much and don't miss third... and you'll probably see high 9s. That's most obvious. I don't see how you're spinning too, too much with that engine though.
trapping 66mph isnt going to get you too much better tha a 10.30 you just dont have the horsepower for it.
to get 9.99 in the 1/8th you need atleast 69-70 mph , only way to get more mph is get more whp.
a more or less stock d motor on street tires would have a hell of a hard time to get a 2.1 60ft, hell ive never seen it done. with good drag radials or slicks a 2.1 easy but on the street tires with the n/a d motor probly not gonna happen

when racing on street tires dont drop the clutch when launching, you will just spin with out getting to far.. you have to let the clutch out slow untill you feel yourself grip, then drop it. this will help your 60'ft. also if you did have some 20"slicks you would be running 9's every pass
well i just got back from the track and afrer about 9 passes i got it to go 9.991
woot woot well the turbo is going on this weekend and will be ready for the track sunday
