Clutch
I just bought a new clutch and it says to break it in for 700 miles can any one tell me how to break it in. i was told that u couldnt drive over 3,000 rpms is that true??
you should be fine, just dont do MASS burn outs or anything...VTEC should be ok, just dont slam into gears extremely fast and all that good stuff..
what clutch did you get? hopefully not XTD...if so, take it out and return before it *** up on you!

you can unless you're slippin' the clutch at 3k
just try not to slip it too much, drop it, and the usual beatin'.
when the clutch is fully engaged it wont slip so after that it shouldn't matter what rpm you go.
just be smart about it

let me put it like this for you the clutch is what transmits power from the engine to the transmission. it does this through a friction pad being grabbed by the flywheel and pressure plate. when you hit the clutch the pressure plate lifts of the pad and the clutch and spin free of the engine. reason for doing is so the transmission can slow or speed up to whatever speed it needs to be to make the next gear. if you have a new clutch and you force the pressure plate onto the friction material before it is broken in, then you break it in incorrectly and the disc will not last or you will overheat the pressure plate and spot or potentiallly crack it. so you can rev all the way to the moon you just can force the clutch disc into the flywheel/pressure plate till it breaks in
btw a new clutch should not slip. if it is slipping loosen the cable or pull back the rod in the slave cylinder

ive got a stage 3, 4 puck, XTD clutch with a exedy pressure plate ive gone through 3 autocross races and a year of street driving and it hasnt fuked up on me yet, and im turbocharged... only reason a clutch would *** up on you is if you dont know how to run it correctly.
