Default Combustion chamber damage? What to do

Well about a month ago my gsr threw a rod. Put a hole through my block and all that good stuff. Well the combustion chamber seems a to have a little bit of damage from what i can tell but i am not sure.


What do you guys think i should do. This is going into a ls/vtec

A good a machine shop can weld on some new material and will re-CC the chambers for equality. But it might be a pretty penny. Price out a used head for comparison.

you need to send it in to a machine shop and most likely there going to have to re-surface it/fix it or whatever they do.

i cant tell **** from those pics. Next time you need to take a pic that close use the symbol on the camera that looks like a flower. It helps tremdously...

You were right about pressing the flower button really cleared things up. This is a much better shot with the valve out

my old gsr head looked the same with lil metal burrs sticking up everywhere. send it to a machine shop and they will clean it and dremel it so its all smoothed out, will probaly make a better seal too once its all cleaned

find a used valve, put it in, dremel the little ledge down smooth and put it back on. its fine, stop being a *****

serious man. it looks like it totally missed the valve seat. if there is no damage, then just smooth the edge of where it tapped the head and run it.

why risk having to tear it back apart when its all of what $125 at most to have a head pressure tested and hottanked??

i would recommend a valve job at the least if that valve was bent at all you will need to relap the new valve/s anyways.

i might just get a new head and deal with this later.there is alot of good stuff going into the motor so i don't want to blow it
