Has anybody used an ETD Gen2 Traction Bar on DA/DB2 Chassis?
i have searched and found little, if any info on these bars. i know that the Full Race is a very good system, but, i was wondering if the improved ETD Gen2 system is good enough? ETD is local and its a bit cheaper, so its convienient for me. at the same time, i value my life and prefer not to install a part that has been known to fail, or, has design flaws. TIA

true, but full race also pop and crack extremely ******* bad. so bad that its annoying especially coming to a stop.
anyway, those radius rods look weak as expletive.

was the car ever in an accident? perhaps the unibody wasn't straight from a fender bender. that would be my first guess.

Hi guys. Yes our bars are CAD designed and we have not had a single failure of this new bar to date.
We are onto Gen3 only because we have gone to Aluminum swagged bars. These kits are lighter and stronger than ever and with our new mounting system should pretty well last the lifetime of your car.
Our kits use Aluminum knurled radius arms and chormoly bars with chormoly rod ends etc etc.. We have all the same features the much more expensive kits have..
We eliminate the tranny crash mount as you don't need it anyway and it's less weight and complexity on the install.
Our rad mounts are really for 88-91 kits where guys want to run a half sized rad and for our K-Series swap bar where guys are running custom rads with their K20 swap setup. The rad mounts work awesome and let you mount any rad anywhere you want, without welding.
Seriously, for the price you can't beat the kit. If you have any other questions on it feel free to PM me. If you get one you will be really happy with it.
I serched the posts on g2ic.com and noticed the thread about our old bars with all the broken bars.. This was an odd case. This guy really did break all those, but he was the only failure we had ever had which is why we never argued with him it was really odd to use that one guy broke so many bars and radius arms etc.. Either his chassis was bent or he had 500whp or something wierd cause that was the only bar from that old generation we sold that ever broke like that. If every one of those bars of that old design broke that bad we would be in jail by now. We had a few other smaller failures but nothing like that.
That old design was not ours, it was somebody elses we were just selling. After it broke and we saw all the failures that guy had, we basically started making them ourselves and re-designed the whole system. THe bars go trought the plate and tig welded on the ends so they are not butt welded only having the weld hold them together. The fact that the bar is through the plate will keep it in place nevermind the weld. THe radius arms are hardcore aluminum swagged bars that are the best we could possibly find. All the other major companies use the same ones. Our rod ends are all chromoly and pretty well the largest rod ends we could get that would fit.
We have a few guys running the 88-91 kits which are basically the same (except for the mounting plate) with some serious HP here and in Europe without a single failure at all. Yes the old bars were bad, but they were not our design. Like many other companies we started out selling other guys stuff, until we started to design our own items based on racing our own cars. It's a whole different ball game now.
Hope that helps,

i'm glad you took the time to clear up some confusion. it shows what kind of customer service you guys bring to the public. it makes me feel safe that you've done some R&D on the design. i can't wait to test out your traction bar after tax returns
has there been installation problems or should these be a direct fit? i am still worried about the front mount not being there...there's just alot momentum going forward when braking especially with the added weight of my turbo kit, have u had these bars tested on FI applications or even just daily driving without the front mount. it makes me worry to eliminate a mount that Honda has placed there for a reason.

Thanks for being open minded and giving us another chance. We really have put a lot of thought and design into the product since it's our own design and we're not buying another companies bar (whom I won't name)
Here is a post from a guy on g2ic.com who I have no idea who he is, really.

He is running 11's and been using our gen 2 bar for the whole year without failures, that should pretty well speak for its self. I would actually like to get in contact with this guy to be honest, if anybody knows him. I signed up on g2ic.com however I can't post or do anything for 7 days.
Also, an online magazine/video company bought our bars and did an install of them. Here is the video of them being installed and used. View this video to see them and their reaction. They paid us for the bars and never told us they were doing this until we got a link after it was all done. They could have totally bashed our bars if they decided they were no good. This is an 88-91 Civic kit which is identical to our 90-93 kit except for the end plates.

That site does a lot of V8 product coverage as well, so they know radius arms and heim joints inside and out as they are used a lot in their chassis setups. If we put together crap stuff, they would have said so. Also their 88-91 project they are building with our bar will be running a k24.
BTW my 10.60 CRX runs our Gen 3 stuff (hell I ran gen 1) and we have never seen a failure and I launch the car at 8500rpm range.
